You tell me about the piece you’d like to create, including any words, names, stones or ideas. I’ll prepare a design proposal and quotation before any work begins. Once we’ve agreed, I’ll start work.
Not at all. Many commissions start with a simple idea, memory, name or word. We can develop the design together.
No, submitting an enquiry simply starts a conversation. You’ll receive a design proposal and quotation before deciding whether you’d like to proceed.
Most pieces are made to order. From the agreed design and order, the delays are:
Smaller silver items: typically 2–3 weeks
Gold and hallmarked pieces: typically 3–4 weeks
During busy periods: up to 4–6 weeks
If you have a specific deadline, please mention it when you enquire. Note that the above delays do not include delivery which are typically 2-3 days to a UK address.
Yes. Depending on the design, you can choose from a range of precious metals and gemstones to create something that feels personal to you.
Sgàthan (the Gaelic word for “mirror”) is a collection of personalised designs that reflect a chosen word or name back on itself, creating a form that feels both familiar and unexpected. By choosing the word or name you are already commissioning something unique.
Each piece is individually designed, produced and finished in Scotland. Some stages, such as casting and hallmarking, may be carried out by trusted specialist partners within the UK.
Yes they will. UK law requires most precious metal items to be hallmarked by an official Assay Office before being completed and delivered. Strictly it depends on the weight of the item. However, in practice all of our items, including those in silver, are officially hallmarked to guarantee the quality of the jewellery.
Yes. Alongside the collections, I also accept bespoke commissions for customers looking for something entirely unique.
Yes. International shipping is available for many destinations, including the EU and the US. Delivery times and any local taxes or duties will vary by country.
I aim to deliver each item DDP (Delivery Duty Paid) which means that there are no surprises when you order and pay: taxes and duties are included in the price. If it is not possible for some reason to deliver DDP this will be indicated before the order needs to be confirmed.
Personalised and bespoke pieces cannot usually be returned unless they are faulty.
Non-personalised made-to-order pieces may be returned within 14 days of receipt, provided they are returned in their original condition.
Many pieces are commissioned as gifts. If you’d like help creating something meaningful for a special occasion, simply get in touch.
The cost depends on the design, materials and gemstones selected.
Once we discuss your ideas, I’ll provide a quotation before any commitment is made.
